- Alafia River State Park
Located 30 miles southeast of Tampa, this 6,260-acre park in Central Florida is a popular destination for campers who enjoy challenging off-road biking. With 17 miles of bike trails, the park offers more radical elevation changes than what is usually found in the state.

- Anastasia State Park
Located just 2 miles away from downtown St. Augustine, the first city in America, this campground in Northeast Florida is a perfect destination for history enthusiasts. The site was used to mine coquina for building the Castillo de San Marcos, which is the oldest masonry fort in the U.S. This 1,600-acre park also offers 4 miles of beachfront.

- Big Lagoon State Park
This Panhandle campground is between mainland Florida and Perdido Key on the Gulf of Mexico, 15 miles out from downtown Pensacola. Crabbing in Big Lagoon is a major draw to the 655-acre site, as are the birdwatching opportunities, particularly during spring and fall migrations.

- Collier-Seminole State Park
To experience the wildlife and natural splendor of the Everglades, this 7,271-acre park on one of the world’s biggest mangrove swamps is a leading destination. The Southwest Florida location is 15 miles outside Naples, and it’s highly regarded for its freshwater and saltwater fishing opportunities.

- Florida Caverns State Park

- Highlands Hammock State Park
This 9,000-acre Central Florida park on the western outskirts of Sebring opened in 1931, making it one of the oldest in the state. Its 3-mile scenic bike loop, elevated boardwalk crossing an old-growth cypress swamp, and Civilian Conservation Corps history museum are popular attractions.

- Jonathan Dickinson State Park
Situated on South Florida’s east coast 25 miles north of West Palm Beach, this 11,500-acre park showcases numerous distinct habitats with immediate proximity to the gorgeous coastline. Tours are available of the famous Trapper Nelson pioneer homestead of the 1930s.

- Long Key State Park
For an RV campground in the Florida Keys, head to this 965-acre park 32 miles past Key Largo and 66 miles before Key West. The site is renowned for its bonefishing and its chain of lagoons visitors can explore by kayak.

- Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park
Developed in the 1930s, this 2,000-acre Northeast Florida park is one of the state’s oldest; some original lakefront cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps still stand. The site, 32 miles northeast of Gainesville, features the rolling sandhills and deep ravine springs of Florida’s central ridge.

- Rainbow Springs State Park
This park has Florida’s fourth-largest spring and accommodations for oversized recreational vehicles. Archaeological evidence shows Rainbow Spring has been in use for some 10,000 years. This 1,450-acre park is 22 miles west of Ocala.
